HEEHRA — Home Electrification & Appliance Rebate
Each state administers HEEHRA differently. WA's implementation launched 2025; check status before assuming current availability — funding can run out per program-year.
Scope
What this program covers
Eligibility
Who qualifies
Income-qualified households (under 150% Area Median Income). Up to $14,000 in rebates per household. Point-of-sale discount — taken at install, not at tax time.
Details
How the program actually works
HEEHRA is part of the Inflation Reduction Act and is the most generous federal residential incentive for income-qualified households. Unlike 25C (tax credit), HEEHRA is a POINT-OF-SALE rebate — the qualifying contractor reduces your invoice directly and recovers the rebate from the state administrator. This means you don't need to wait until tax time AND you don't need tax liability to benefit. Max $8,000 for heat pump, $1,750 for HPWH, $4,000 for panel, etc., capped at $14,000 household total per lifetime.
Stacking
Can you combine this with other programs?
Stacks with utility rebates and state programs. Does NOT stack with 25C on the same equipment. Income-qualified contractors must be enrolled in your state's program network.
